'Private View' at Papercourt Studio
On a very cold January night, I was totally overwhelmed to have so many supporters off my work, at my 'Private View' at Papercourt Studio.
It was wonderful to see friends and colleagues and even better to see new faces, who heard of the exhibition through social media. As many artists do, I tend to beaver away in my studio, stock piling canvases and thinking to myself, I must organise that next show and never getting around to it. This year, 2019, however I decided, this was the year to get out there and brave the public.
The lovely comments and feedback I received on the night , were wonderful to hear and inspire me to keep going with my campaign. Sales of my work on the night are testament to its popularity and my work seems to evokes nostaglic memories for others as well as myself.
I have already booked up for Surrey Artists Open Studios in June, launching on the 1st & 2nd June with SAOS Artist Trail. I also intend to run more Open Studios the 1st Saturday of the month at Papercourt Studio, 115a The Mayford Centre, www.papercourtstudio.co.uk, whilst teaching my kids classes 'Woking Artswork', www.wokingartswork.co.uk. Hope to see some friendly faces along!
